After months of planning this last hurrah, prom day finally came. The last school dance that the class of 2024 will experience and they did not disappoint. From dinner plans, photoshoots, and the actual event these seniors made the absolute most of their night that will forever be cherished.
Even before the excitement of prom day hit its peak, some seniors were already ahead of the game when it came to dress shopping.
“I bought my dress a month ago and started to slowly buy more and more like my accessories,” senior Magaly Teran said. “My friends even bought it in February before anyone else could fill the stores up.”
For senior Laura Covarrubias, the excitement of prom extended beyond the dance floor.
“I loved getting pretty and the whole getting ready part was one of my favorite memories,” Covarrubias said. “It felt bittersweet knowing that it would be the last time to get glammed for a school dance.”
For senior Fabian Gonzalez and his friends, the night didn’t end with the dance.
“After prom, we headed to Galveston for our prom house weekend,” Gonzalez said. “It was a blast, to be honest, it was just fun seeing everyone together.”
As students flooded into the Berry Center, many appreciated the effort put into the event.
“The decorations were amazing, and the organizers did a fantastic job,” Gonzalez said. “It felt like we were in Tangled.”
As the night came to a close, students reflected on their last few days as a Lobo.
“It was sad knowing it was our last high school dance, but I’m grateful for the memories we made,” Teran said. “Prom night will always be a sweet memory.”
From dinner reservations downtown to the shores of Galveston, the class of 2024 made their prom night one to remember.
