The Varsity Volleyball team’s season has come to an end. During the season, the teams had their highs and lows, but grew closer to one another.
Throughout the season, the team racked up 21 wins and 23 losses. The team did not advance to playoffs, falling short by one place.
“We lost our place to Waller,” Varsity Volleyball Coach Amanda Petitt said. “who we’ve been battling with all year.”
During Homecoming week, September 27th, the Lobos beat Waller 3-2. In their next face-off on October 22, Waller came back with the win 3-2. In the game that would decide if the Lobos attended the playoffs or not on November 1st, Langham lost 3-1, meaning Waller took the last open spot to attend playoffs. Teams must make at least fourth place to advance. Despite not advancing, the team learned a lot from the season.
“I learned how to have thick skin and get through difficult situations,” Senior Jordan Taylor said.
Hard times are an opportunity to become stronger. Though there were hard times and even harder matches, the team learned to power through it together.
“The team’s dynamic got better through the year,” Senior Ariana Spell said. “The bond was a bumpy road because some days we were connected and other days we weren’t.”
Like all teams, the Varsity Volleyball team had their good days and their bad. However, despite the win or lose, the girls still had each other to rely on. As the year went on, the bond between the team grew stronger, leading them to be more in tune with each other.
“It was a good year,” Coach Petitt said. “They learned and improved a lot, but our outcome wasn’t what we wanted.”
