Twelve Langham Creek football players were named to the All-District 16-6A Team following the conclusion of the 2024-2025 season.
“Originally, I didn’t think I was going to get it because I’ve only been on varsity for a year,” senior Christopher Flowers said. “I didn’t understand how big of an accomplishment this was at first; when everybody told me how big it was, I was like wow. When you play, you ball out, put your all into it and when you accomplish something like that, it feels amazing.”
For senior Cole Molina, this is the second year in a row he has been named to the All District Team.
“I feel like it’s ‘cause I work hard; I’m a good leader,” Molina said. “Taking control of the team in situations where we face adversity and taking control in practice.”
Sophomore Ezekiel Ayangbile was encouraged by his coaches to push himself to his fullest potential on the field.
“In terms of how the season’s led me to this moment, definitely my coaches,” Ayangbile said. “My coaches are my biggest support system. Back when we first started the season, I wasn’t a super hard working person, but then they got me to start working hard and that definitely sharpened my skills.”
Ayangbile takes this achievement as motivation to push himself further and advance his football career.
“Everything I do, everything that I get that’s positive, in terms of awards and other things, it drives me to work even harder because I’m getting closer and closer to my goal of getting to the highest level,” Ayangbile said.
While early morning practices were challenging, the athletes persevered and worked hard to complete a great season.
“It was hard to stay awake in class,” Flowers said. “And the heat, coaches yelling at you, you’re beat up every day. But as long as you stay positive, you just work, you don’t think about it, you’ll be all right.”
Flowers plans on staying in Texas for college and pursuing a career in engineering. He is considering playing football if given a scholarship.
“I do think even though my time playing football in high school was short, the things that I have accomplished in such a short time, I think I can really go far with this if I do choose to,” Flowers said.
With the end of the football season comes preparations for next year and beyond.
“My future plans are just honing in on my skills, honing in on what I haven’t really worked on, especially what I need to work on,” Ayangbile said. “I definitely have a main goal to make it into college [and play football].”
