New Chemistry Teacher
Mr. Nichols, a teacher who’s been teaching chemistry for 15 years has recently retired this past semester.
His place has now been taken by a new teacher, Ms. Ramirez. Ramirez was selected by a panel of chemistry teachers and school administrators. Ms. Ramirez previously taught at Katy Taylor High School last semester. She has now started her first semester here.
“We’re gonna make it a good semester,” Ms. Ramirez said. “As long as I am consistent and persistent, and I get them to do the work. They will all aspire to do great things.” The recently selected teacher is very confident about how the year is going to end.
“I like her, she’s really nice,” previous student of Mr. Nichols, Lucia Martinez said. She hopes that Ms. Ramirez will be able to help her out just as much or even more than Mr. Nichols.
“I think that it poses a particular challenge, but I know that with the support of the chemistry team, and the particular person that we have chosen for the job, Mr. Nichols’ previous students are in good hands,” Chemistry teacher Ms. Spain said. Although some people think it might be a difficult situation for the students to have a different teacher for their second semester, Ms. Spain thinks everything will be just fine with Ms. Ramirez.
