Show-Offs

The crowd was cheering, there were good vibes around the entire arena and the Langham Creek Bailadoras were getting ready to go out and show-off what they can do.

This past saturday , all schools in the Cy-Fair district went to what is the annual “Show-Offs ” at the Berry Center. The school’s dance teams are judged on their performances, then they take those critiques and improve on their dances. It also helps them get them ready for competitions which will start  in two-weeks. “ I felt like we did really good, I feel like we aren’t 100 percent ready for contest yet, but we definitely got the feedback we needed to practice this week and get ready for competition, ” Bailadoras President senior Haley Hughes said.

They have been practicing since August everyday after school ,either for football season, pep rallies or competition season. Getting to be there and see the others schools perform gives the team motivation to practice harder and want to  perform better.

“We were really surprised by how great their team dances looked,” Hughes said.

All 57 of the Bailadoras went, making it around 600 people or more in total who went and performed.

“ They had one side showing for the audience and that filled up,” sophomore Sienna Patel said .

The Bailadoras did 3 dances, a Team kick, Team pom and Alter jazz, each of them lasting around 2-3 minutes. If one of the individuals had a solo they performed that too.

“We got 15 minutes to space our dances, it started at 4 and our last dance ended at 6.” Patel said .

Overall, with everyday practice and events like this one it gives the Langham Creek Bailadoras a peek to what it’s like for the competitions they have ahead of them.
