The Water Polo teams have entered their off-season after closing out with their final round of district games. Looking back, the teams saw several tough wins and losses while undergoing significant changes and improvement.
This past season proved competitive, with the Varsity Girls team ranking 3rd in district overall while the Varsity Boys team ranked 4th.
“Both teams played very well and competed at a high level in a very strong water polo district,” Coach Zion Thomas said. “There was improvement across the board, but we are truly still rebuilding.”
As the teams shape up, there is optimism for further growth.
“I really think this squad can change the trajectory for Langham Creek Aquatics as a whole,” Thomas said. “As long as they remember what our goals are as a team, things will go well for them.”
As they enter the off-season, the teams are shifting focus towards preparation and self-improvement.
“This off-season is truly about everyone committing to getting stronger, faster, and smarter in the pool,” Thomas said. “The future is bright for this group.”
But getting there is going to take effort.
“It’s all about putting in hard work at the pool day in and day out,” Thomas said. “I encourage my kids to stay process focused. Focusing on the process helps us not overlook the little things.”
Looking ahead, the next competitive season is set to start in the spring following these next few months of preparation. And with their current trajectory, exciting prospects are underway.
