Carnation Being Sold
Posters have been put up around the halls announcing that carnations will be sold by the Theater Ensemble club. For the first time Theater Ensemble will be selling lovely carnations during lunch hours for Valentine’s Day. Each individual stem will cost one dollar.
This will help raise money for Theater ensemble for a variety of aspects such as: scholarships, money for the students so they can attend national thespians during the summer and equipment that will be used for productions being put on.
Theater Ensemble encourages everyone to buy their special someone one of their carnations. It is an opportunity to support Theater Ensemble and the lobos in general. They have been surprised as more flowers have been bought by students than originally expected, so they hope for great things. They expect a larger amount of money to come and are grateful for students choosing to buy their flowers.
It also opens up opportunities for other students as they buy their special someone a flower. Students will be able to buy the carnations during lunch hours on the ninth and tenth of February. On Valentine’s Day the carnations will be laid out on a table during lunch, so that anyone who has bought said flower will be able to pick them up and then give them to the person they have bought them for.
“I think it’s really cool. It’s a lesson in business for students to see how marketing works,” Theater Director Katie Cross said. “You should buy them because they’re awesome, they’re pretty. You now it’s really for students too if they want to support a good case, also it’s Valentine’s Day, who doesn’t want a flower?”
