Strike Streak
All the games have been won, but there’s one more game to continue their streak. The Girls and Boys Varsity bowling team play today, this last district game could be a great finish to an 8-0 winning streak for them.
“ I feel nervous but I also feel very at peace, very relaxed, very happy, ” junior Camden Ferrell said.
Each school in CFISD had 9 matches this year for district results. Varsity has already won districts but are now waiting to advance to regionals, which will happen in a couple of weeks in Pasadena. State also, provided the Varsity team qualifies.
“Regionals is where the best play and it’s pretty nerve racking, but I believe we will get far and we will bowl our best,” sophomore Maddy Johnson said.
The JV team placed 3rd at district and the season ends there for them. Bowling competes against every other school in the Cy Fair district except Cy-lakes and Cy-Parks, because they don’t have a team.
“ We anticipate that next year all 12 high schools will have teams provided they find sponsors for their club. There are actually hundreds of high school teams throughout Texas,” sponsor Mr.Young said.
All schools practice at the Copperfield Bowling Alley once a week. Their games also take place there at least once a week.
“It’s a lot of fun, it’s a good way to release some stress and make some new friends,” Ferrell said.
There’s 18 students in bowling, 12 in Varsity and 8 in Junior varsity. All 12 students will be headed to regionals.
“Yes we are undefeated. I feel pretty excited about our next game, I believe we can win,” Johnson said.
The Game starts today right after school, around 3:05 at the Copperfield Bowling Alley.
