Bowling Goes to State
The Boy’s Varsity Bowling team went to state ranking 9th place.
The team included Christian Lopez, Nathan Milner, Saxon Butcher, Gabe Garcia, Diego Maya, and Camden Ferrell.
“State was good, everyone was good,” senior Saxon Butcher said.
They spent two hours at the bowling alley twice a week to practice, putting in addition time on their own to really get prepared.
“I think we made it to states because the bowlers were willing to put in a lot of time and practice over the course of the year,” Mr. Fredrick Young said.
Already, the bowling team is looking towards the future.
“There’s always room to improve. Anything that you can do, you can always do better,” senior Nathan Milner said.
The team made 9th place out of all of the schools in the state. The year before, they placed 3rd, so they are striving now to be even better than that, next year.
“I would love to have more members next year. We had 20 bowlers this year between the Varsity and JV. We are allowed to have up to 16 in Varsity, and 16 in JV for a total of 32 bowlers,” Young said.
In bowling, the team as a whole is important.
“I feel like we did good as a team, but there are some things we could improve on,” Milner said.
