Summer Activities
Summer 2017 is almost here. The time for sleeping in, watching Netflix, and ignoring all summer assignments from your teachers. However, there are plenty of fun activities around Houston to make your summer more memorable.
This June, Houston’s biggest music festival “Free Press Summer Fest”, will kick off from June 3rd to the 4th. Meet some of the biggest names in music at Eleanor Tinsley Park on the banks of the Buffalo Bayou.
Also in June, The American Institute of Architects Houston hosts it annual free Sandcastle Competition. The competition, that draws in over 20,000 spectators, is held at East Beach in Galveston each June.
For July 4, Celebrate with friends and family at the annual Freedom Over Texas Festival. Along with their world famous firework display, enjoy live entertainment by Hunter Hayes and DNCE, and various food booths.
If you’re more into music, check out some of your favorite artist coming to Houston this summer.
Kendrick Lamar will perform on July 15th, followed by Shawn Mendes on July 22nd, Khalid on July 28th, Lil Yachty on August 12th, J Cole on August 18th, and Ed Sheeran on August 19, as well as many others.
Take advantage of your summer, and do something fun and exciting.
