‘Killing in Your Name’ Begins Production
“Ready, set, action!”
The lights are shining. The cameras are rolling. The props are laid out. But this isn’t Hollywood: it’s Langham Creek.
The LC media crew is producing a new film Killing in Your Name. This is their first film of the year. The plot is centered on a man who comes home from work one day to see his clone.
The film is being produced and was written by senior John Hagar III who has previously worked on Cinema Junkyard for LCTV.
“This is my first production but I helped produce Grand Lives (a film by LCTV) and I’ve been doing Cinema Junkyard for a few years,” Hagar said.
The inspiration came to Hagar while watching his favorite movie.
“I was watching the Shining over Christmas break and was like, hey, what if someone walked home one day and found a clone,” Hagar said.
The film will be entirely student directed and produced.
“He took this idea and developed it and developed it and he’s really excited to make it,” junior producer Blake Kuehnle said.
The film will have a cast of three people.
“Malachi Guerrero, Natalia Ortiz and I will be starring in it,” Hagar said.
The latest actress role was the latest to be cast by senior Natalia Ortiz. “I read the script. It was cool,” Ortiz said.
The production time will take around a month with the three man team production crew that has worked on previous productions and LCTV in the past.
“I’ve made two films in my career, I made a documentary Grand Lives which went to a film contest, and a film called Straight as a Rainbow” Kuehnle said.
The film is due to release the week before spring break. So be sure to keep your eyes peeled for a truly Langham Creek motion picture.
