2018 Back-to-School Playlist
This summer we received a heap of new music from some of our favorite artists. From Scorpion by Drake to I Used To Know Her by H.E.R, the music industry produced plenty of music, ensuring we had amazing tracks for back-to-school playlists.
“Butterflies” by Queen Naija
This love ballad appeared on Queens very first EP. The vocals and lyrics are sure to have to you reminiscing about your summer fling.
“Yes Indeed (clean)” by Lil Baby ft. Drake
This Drake assisted track was a guaranteed dub for up and coming rapper Lil Baby. Placing no.1 on Billboards R&B/Hip-hop airplay chart, this song is up for debate as song of the summer.
“In My Feelings (Clean)” by Drake
The song that sparked the summer dance trend. If we’re being honest, seeing everyone on your timeline dancing to In My Feelings was a bit annoying, but that didn’t stop us from singing along.
“I Like It (Clean)” Cardi B ft. Bad Bunny, J Balvin
Another song of the summer. Cardi B hit us with the chorus, Bad Bunny made us non spanish speakers pretend we understood what bars he was spitting, and J Balvin had us singing along to what we hoped were the lyrics.
“Nonstop (Clean)” by Drake
Flip, flip. With a more serious approach to this song, it’s obvious Drake did not come to play. This is strictly a “get the job done” song, perfect for when we need a little extra motivation during long hours of homework.
“No Tears Left To Cry” by Ariana Grande
Stay in the summer state of mind with this song. No Tears Left To Cry comes off of Ariana’s 2018 album Sweetener, which was a wide showcase of her amazing vocal and songwriting skills.
“Girls Like You” by Maroon 5 ft. Cardi B
Who would’ve imagined Maroon 5 and Cardi B on a song? Whew chile. This romance song is one to be played for many summers to come.
“Album of the Year (Clean)” by J. Cole
This song came out just before Coles KOD tour. The bars are amazing, the delivery is out of this world, and the beat, produced by Cole himself, leaves us speechless. Safe to say this was another win from Cole.
“Run It!” by Chris Brown ft. Juelz Santana
What’s a good back-to-school playlist without a good throwback? 2005 Chris Brown is always a crowd favorite, love or hate him you can’t deny it. Whether you know every word or have no idea who C Breezy is, listening to this song will definitely put you in a good mood.

“Girls Like You” is a slick, well-sung, and feel-good song. This record exemplifies the trendy, ultra-slick, modern pop sound that’s dominating the airwaves. Besides the production and sound, Adam Levine continues to shine vocally. All in all, “Girls Like You” is enjoyable and a great choice for a single, and Maroon 5 definitely has the right idea to get one of the hottest (trending) rappers in the game as the featured guest.
