The Vietnam Outreach Club

At this year’s club expo, you might have noticed a new club among the many posters and presentations. The Vietnam Outreach Club has been resurrected this year by senior Khanh Lam.

“The club originally started around 2015-2016 by a senior,” Lam said. “The sponsor became busy, so they stopped the club for a while and I’m bringing the club back this year.”

Lam is the Clubs president and is excited to start spreading the word and start helping kids in Vietnam.

“Our main goal this year is to try and get a lot of people to join our club,” Lam said. “So, we can teach them our culture and our language, and try and fund-raise as much as possible so we can donate to the kids in Vietnam”

The club raises money for a program located in Vietnam which brings kids out of terrible situations and provide like food, clothes, supplies, education for all kids they rescue, giving them a shot at living a normal life.

“They rescue kids from sex trafficking, black market, and stuff like that and they will provide an education for those kids from the lowest level to High School level.” Lam said “What we are trying to do is lend them a hand and help their efforts”

And if you are worried about your college volunteer hours, don’t be. The Vietnam Outreach club offers many chances to volunteer in the fundraising.

“We give students volunteer opportunities so if you want those volunteer hours for your college resume so come join our club!” Lam said.

The club meets every other Tuesday and encourages everyone to stop by and check it out.
