Halftime Changes at the Game
This Friday at the varsity football game, the halftime performances by the Bailadoras, Lobo Band, and color guard are returning with slight changes made due to Covid-19.
“It is difficult to maintain traditions while still taking all the precautions necessary,” junior drum major Abril Tenorio said. “But it doesn’t stop from keeping the family environment out there.”
All performers will be spread out further than seasons past amongst the field to provide a safe socially distanced space.
“The band will still play for the Bailadoras, however, as far as playing our stand tunes, members will wear a mask in the stands while playing to promote utmost safety.” senior drum major Kennedy Wardy said. “We still intend to have fun and put on a good show.”
The Band will be performing their show “Timeless,” which will feature elements of past shows to recall their best marching moments, and the Bailadoras will perform a pom routine to “We got the beat.”
“It was hard at first to adapt with covid, but we are all keeping a positive mindset,” junior Lieutenant Kylie Jones said.
With the challenges presented with covid restrictions, members of the student organizations have had to adapt their normal routines.
“It’s a little hard dancing with it [a mask] on and breathing,” junior Lieutenant Ellie Eugenio said. “But honestly you get used to it. Covid can’t stop us.”
