The Softball life
Having a friend in softball could be awesome! Why? Because you can always get a free ticket for a game. I’m kidding, but softball, to many people, serves as a distraction from everyday home and school stresses.
Ashley Contreras, 11th, is a softball player whom practices every day. It must be very tiring to work, study and go to practice every day.
“Softball players have to be in softball for the whole season unless they have arguments with the coach or are not passing their classes. Then, they would have to be kicked off the team,” Contreras said.
In the previous game on Saturday, Contreras said that the team did not win, but she is hoping to win this Friday the 11th.
She also stated that she is in the shortstop position and there is no special softball player. The reason she got into softball is because she’s an athlete, and they practice frequently.
“We practice 2 hours a day every day, and it’s tiring. I say that because I’ve been playing softball for 4 years,” Contreras said.
Coach Biffle, the school’s softball coach, is not strict like to the point where the girls’ regret joining the team. “Coach Biffle is not as strict as other coaches, she’s just right, like she doesn’t make anyone regret being in softball,” Contreras said.
Being in softball can be very stressful especially if you have to focus on grades and all, but many of the softball girls are willing to put forth the effort to juggle the stress in their lives.
