After attending the district competition, many of our cosmetology students qualified for state. Junior Susana Moreno and Leslie Guerrero participated in the state competition, held in Corpus Christi, where they both took first place for their projects.

There were many different project categories to choose from.

“The competition was very competitive. There were so many great projects, too many to choose from, but only one could win best of show,” Moreno said.

Our state finalists participated and placed in the Batman Super Villain project where they created Poison Ivy, Two Face, Harley Quinn and the Joker.

“The competition was very hard, but I think we deserved to win because the project we did looked really nice and it was pretty,” Guerrero said.

Overall, our finalists worked fiercely to claim their victories and they are preparing to earn back to back winning titles at next year’s competition.
