BRRRR! Snow covered slopes of New Mexico are what the sister duo, senior Jacky and junior Lily Hunyh, were waiting for. With the winter season still gripping the southwestern state in its icy embrace, the thrill-seeking pair eagerly anticipated the adrenaline rush and picturesque views that awaited them.
“We [had] been planning this trip for months, and to finally be here on the slopes together is a dream come true,” Huynh said. “The thrill of learning how to snowboard with Lily by my side is unmatched.”
Lily, equally enthusiastic about their snowboarding escapade, shared her excitement.
“New Mexico’s slopes offered the perfect blend of challenges and beauty,” Huynh said. “It was a fantastic feeling to push our limits and explore new heights and tricks together.”
Their journey wasn’t just about adrenaline-fueled descents; it was also a chance to immerse themselves in the breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture of New Mexico.
“I don’t even think I’ve seen skies as pretty as the ones I saw on the slopes,” Huynh said.
Between runs, Jacky and Lily indulged in local cuisines, further enriching their experience.
“We went to local restaurants and tried as many different dishes as we could,” Huynh said. “We went with a big group of friends and family and so it was like a big family feast each time.
Reflecting on their adventure-filled day, Jacky expressed gratitude for the opportunity to explore New Mexico’s winter wonderland.
“From the adrenaline rush of conquering steep slopes to the tranquility of gazing at snow-capped peaks, this trip has been nothing short of magical,” Huynh said.
