Varsity Football vs Cy Ranch

Pushing down field senior Toneil Carter carries the ball for a 1st down.

It was a battle between the varsity football team and the undefeated Cy-Ranch Mustangs at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium last Friday (Oct. 14th). The Lobos were beaten, taking their second loss of the district season.

“I was surprised to see us fumble 3 times in the first quarter,” Head Coach Thompson said. “That was a huge factor in the outcome of the game.”

They fought until the very end, scoring 14 points in the 4th quarter. Time just wasn’t on their side.

“It was too late in the game,” Thompson said.

However, the team is still practicing hard to clench a spot in play-offs.

“We are always improving in practices,” Thompson said. “We prepare for every game with 100% effort and if we play well in our next three games, we will head to play-offs.”

No matter the outcome of the game, Lobo Nation is always there to support. Sophomore Brock Eiermann hasn’t missed a game all season and plans to keep it that way. He was upset about the loss, but encouraged his friends on the team to stay confident.

“I really thought we were gonna win,” Eiermann said. “But every team has good days and bad days. We just have to keep our heads up and move on to the next game.”
