DeShaun Watson for ‘Comeback Player Of The Year’?

Since the Houston Texans first playoff appearance in the 2011-2012 season, it seemed to be as all the pieces of the puzzle were coming together; however, one huge piece was missing. A Quarterback. Matt Schaub? No. Ryan Fitzpatrick? No. Brian Hoyer? No. Brock Osweiler? Heck no.

Then the Texans traded up in the 2017 NFL draft to acquire Clemson Quarterback DeShaun Watson. Houston didn’t know how to feel with this draft pick. Was it a smart move? Or is this just another bad decision?

Watson started week 2 of the 2017 season and stunned the NFL. Watson continued to impress until his heartbreaking ACL tear after the week 8 loss to Seattle.

Its safe to say that Watson may have lost rookie of the year due to the injury, but now the question is, what next is there to expect?

In the 8 short weeks of his rookie season, Watson racked up 1,699 Passing yards and 19 Passing touchdowns. Watson led all Quarterbacks in all categories through week 8 and showed no signs of slowing down.

In week’s 4 and 5 Watson put up a combined 544 passing yards and 10 touchdowns.

Watson has been through one ACL tear before and came back twice as strong.

NFL analysts predict that Watson and Hopkins will be the best Quarterback-Wide receiver duo in the league.

All this begs the question:  “Will Waston be the NFL’s ‘Comeback player of the year?”
