Lobo Track, From Regionals to State

The Langham Creek Track and Field team competed at the UIL Regional meet on April 28th and 29th at Waco Texas. The team had 8 boys qualify and 2 girls qualify, all but 1 person made it to the finals the next day.

“We had half the team making it to Regionals this season, which is a major improvement from last year when we only brought two people. I am proud to have helped lead this team to break 5 school records, and major success this season. I’m proud of all the boys,” Coach Hannan said.

The Lobos had 2 State Qualifiers, Alex Ornelas and Jaquaize Pettaway who compete on May 13 at the University of Texas in an attempt to become State Champions.

“I’m excited that I made the state meet, but I still have work to do because I want to become a state champion. Track wasn’t big in my mind, but I’ve started to enjoy the ride a lot and I want to end my senior season with a bang,” Jaquaize Pettaway said.

As the Lobos close out their season Saturday, May 13th, we hope to see everyone come to support the two qualifiers who hope to become State Champions.

“This was my first year at Langham Creek High School and it was such an honor to coach amazing athletes such as Jaquaize and Alex. They work extremely hard and it’s a pleasure to see them exceed in what they love to do. We have one more big race to execute, then we go celebrate this successful season,” Coach Lujan said.
