Happy October! Or should I say, MONSTOBER! As the season begins to transition into fall, and the PSL (Pumpkin Spice Lattes) orders are increasing, I find that different songs, movies, and clothing come out of their vault ready for this spooky season. So grab your blankets and cozy up as I plan to give you the, “Starter Pack for Fall.”
First and foremost, music. Being a music enthusiast myself, I tend to gravitate towards certain songs and specific genres depending on the season. Throughout the months of October and November I look for the songs that give me the “warm feeling” on the inside, instead of the “warm feeling” I got all summer from the Texas heat. I asked the other four members of the news staff to tell me their favorite fall songs, and below I attached a Spotify playlist made specifically for when you need that nostalgic feeling of all the fun the first semester holds.

Second, let’s talk about clothing. If you are into pop culture, you will know what I’m about to reference. Christian Girl Autumn was started by Caitlin Covington in 2019 that soon became a famous meme all over social media. Someone who indulges in this fully embraces the cozy and fashionable aspects of the fall season. This includes oversized sweaters, Ugg boots, scarves, and always a pumpkin treat in hand. Last but definitely not least, spooktastic treats! Pumpkin this, pumpkin that. Any food in fall is amazing if it has the word pumpkin in it! Starting from the famous Starbucks seasonal drinks to sweet candy received on Halloween, October is the perfect time to channel your inner baker and explore new recipes.
