Interact Spring Show 2018
The Interact Spring Show is scheduled for April 27th after school in room 2109. This is an annual event that includes students of all grades coming together, munching on yummy food, and sharing a unique talent with each other. Everyone is welcome to join in on the festivities, seeing as how there is no entrance fee.
“The goal of the show is to bring together people of all different walks of life. Our club is about unity among diversity, and that’s what the spring show is about. We’re just trying to show how diverse our club is and how diverse our members are through the diverse performances they give,” Co- President Anh Nguyen said.
Non-Interact members are also encouraged to come to this fun event.
At the moment, there are 12 performers who will be the center of attention of the show. There are also prizes for the kids who earn first, second, and third place. Towards the end of the event, the audience votes to decide which act deserves these honors.
“We’ll have a big prize for first place and then something smaller for the other two,” Vice President Ayse Erdemir said.
This is the second year that the Interact officers decided to organize this event. The idea was first brought up three years ago.
“The previous officers wanted a Diversity Night, which is kind of like a Mr. Lobo show, but we thought it was too big, so we decided to scale it down to the spring social and we asked members to perform. So that’s how the idea came to be,” Secretary Vi Vo said.
There will be many performances to look forward to on this day.
“There will be mostly singing, dancing and kids playing a musical instrument, like the piano or violin,” Vo said.
Hopefully, newcomers who attend this event will consider joining this amazing volunteer organization and there will be more kids helping the community in time for next year.
