Yearbooks are a staple of high school life. They chronicle the events and memories of the given school year. It takes almost the whole year to plan and produce the book. The yearbooks for this year are planned to be distributed next week.

“Just the nature of yearbook makes it unique to each year it is made,” Yearbook advisor Mr. Ricks said.

The theme for this year’s book is “This is Home” along with a subtle visual theme of “Texas Strong” in honor of Harvey victims and volunteers and how it affected this school year.

“The This is Home theme I think really represents that we spend so much time at school it becomes a second home to us and we tried to represent that throughout the book,” Club editor junior Brice Hoff said.

There were many struggles getting the book published this year. Weather and tough deadlines but the staff pulled through and finished it on time.

“I don’t think we faced anything out of the ordinary, with any great project there are hurdles,” Assistant Editor-in-Chief senior Spencer Gosmano said.

A large amount of the staff will be leaving this year to graduate. Meaning the staff is hoping to see a lot of new faces next year.

“I think with the sophomores and juniors we have coming back next year the yearbook is in good hands,” Gosmano said.

Some of the new staff will be attending a workshop at Texas A&M to hone their skills for the upcoming year.
