Lady Lobos (Track)ing Their Way to Rice

The Lady Lobo Varsity Track team competed this past Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Rice University. The Lady Lobos have been preparing for their district meet all season and Rice is another opportunity to progress and use what they have been learning.

“This meet was important because it helped in the preparation for districts,” junior Liliana Munoz said.

This meet also allowed for many to come into contact with colleges who are interested, as they send scouts to preview the runners and talk to the high school coaches.

“Harvard, UT, Rice were all there,” Munoz said. “It really makes you want to do your best.”

Although nobody from Langham placed at the meet, many of the girls believe that it was a great learning experience.

“There was some tough competition at Rice, but it’s a nice preparation meet, and shows us a little bit how it will be if we compete at a college level,” Munoz said.

The Lady Lobos Track only have a few meets left including district. For many they still have a year or two but for seniors their high school running career is coming to a close. So, come out and support your Lady Lobos!
