Debate Food Drive

Debate is holding a Food Drive for the local Houston Food Bank to help give out more meals to families this spring.

“The LCHS Debate team is putting on this food drive to help benefit our community, and distribute meals to people who need it,” Debate teacher Eric Beane said.

Debate is currently accepting and donating food from this drive to give to the Houston Food Bank.

“The Houston Food Bank will distribute the food to children, families, and seniors facing food insecurity in our community,” Debate Captain Kelsey Do said.

The reason the debate team is doing this is not only to help the community out in a positive way, but also to build good character.

“The ultimate goal of this is to unfold our Lobo ethics of Pride, Accountability, Community, and Kindness, and also help benefit the Food Bank so that we can impact the lives of others in a positive way,” Beane said.

If you’re interested in donating to the food drive, then make sure you pay attention to where you can donate and how to do it.

“They can find a box in any commons, or go directly to room 1914 to drop off their donations,” Do said.

The food drive started on January 18th and will end on February 1st, so you better hurry up if you’re interested in donating.
