On March 25th students from the Langham Creek Journalism program brought home 9 medals along with earning the title of 16-6A “Overall Journalism Team District Champion.”

“I wasn’t expecting it because I only did it for the experience, but now that I’ve advanced I’m excited to compete at the regional level,” sophomore Hailey Vo said.

“It was a nerve-wracking event waiting for the results,” junior Cindy Ramos said.

They will have to compete against even tougher competition at Regionals, but they will also have the chance to network with other young journalists and learn from other students.

“I am both thrilled and nervous about the Regional round,” Ramos said. “But we know that no matter what happens, we have learned so much from this experience and grown so much as journalists.”

Now, as they look ahead to the next phase of the competition, they were filled with anticipation and eagerness to showcase their skills on a larger stage.

“We are so grateful for this opportunity and we hope to make the most of it,” Vo said. “We are excited to see what the future holds for us in this field.”
