On Thursday, choir hosted their annual Java Jive. Java Jive held auditions that were open for everyone who wanted to show any kind of talent they had.
“I love Java Jive,” senior Lacey Brandman said. “It’s a fun way to perform and a way for my friends out of choir to perform too.”
For all grade levels, Java Jive is a chance to create memories.
“I wanted to do it because it’s my senior year and I just want to make as many memories as I can,” senior Maddie Blasingame said.
This experience sets apart from any previous school experiences.
“I’ve done other school activities but nothing like this,” senior Shelby Terry said.
With some concerns about nerves, there was still excitement about working with friends.
“I’m just worried that my group will be too nervous,” senior Philip Boyett said. “We’re all in our own thing but we work well together so I’m still excited.”
Many people enjoy performing but may not always have the time, so these events are great to express their talents.
“Performing is my favorite thing and the school has a lot of opportunities for me to do what I love,” junior Luke Warring said.
Students who attended the performance praised the participants for putting on a great show and including the audience.
“I enjoyed it,” senior Izzy Anderson said. “My friends and everyone else did amazing; they all interacted with the audience.”
Java Jive isn’t going anywhere, so students still have a chance to audition in the future if they weren’t able to this year.
“I encourage everyone to do or at least try out because it’s a great way to express yourself and also be a part of the school community,” Brandman said.
