The Muslim Student Association or MSA will be painting Henna designs for $5-$20 depending on the design on Mondays and Wednesdays after school in Mrs.Martin’s room 2610 until Thanksgiving break. Henna is common throughout the Middle East for special occasions.

“Henna is a plant and it’s ground up into a paste to put temporary tattoos usually on girls, but guys can get it too,” senior president of MSA Aysha Dada said.

There have been Henna fundraisers in the past but not last year.

“This is the first year I’ve done it, but I know they’ve done it before,” MSA sponsor Mrs.Martin said.

This is a fundraiser for MSA for various things for the club t-shirts, charity and a competition.

“It should raise more than a hundred dollars, I think the year before last it raised $175,” Dada said.

The competition they go to is called the Muslim Interscholastic League or MIST.

“I went freshmen year, it’s just like a theater or other school competition but related to Islam,” junior MSA member Iqra Vaid said.
