Soccer Sterlings

“Gooooaallllll” shout the girls in the stands cheering on the Varsity Soccer Boys. The Soccer Sterling’s are a club of girls with the goal to support and show pride for our school and the Boys Varsity Soccer Team.

“We make little baskets or jars baking sweets, leaving motivational messages for each of their games,” club leader and organizer Alyssa Assaf said.

This is a first year for some of the girls and they are ready for this season to cheer on the boys.

“This is my first year doing the Soccer Sterling’s. I don’t know much about what all we’re gonna do, but I’m excited to cheer on my friends,” Krystal Rodriguez said.

The girls join this club as a way to get together and make new friends. The girls will start to have a couple meetings a month to get a chance to laugh and enjoy each other’s presence.

Each girl got the chance to pick one player on the Varsity team whether it’s their best friend or boyfriend. They all try to make it to the away games but are for sure to make it to every home game.

“We try our best to make it to every home game to cheer on the game,” Assaf said.
