As graduation approaches, many seniors are starting to focus on one important detail that makes the ceremony feel real: cap and gowns. Cap and gowns are not optional for students planning to participate in the ceremony. For many students, ordering early is the best way to avoid stress later in the semester.
“I recommend ordering them now or as soon as possible,” Associate Principal Chad Fisher said.
Along with ordering information, administrators also want students to be aware of the timeline for graduation.
“Graduation will be hosted on May 29th at 9:00 am at the Berry Center,” Assistant Principal Maria Gonzalez said.
Cost is another factor students should consider, especially as graduation gets closer.
“Cap and gowns usually cost around $56, but the prices go up by March,” Gonzalez said.
Preparing for graduation also includes deciding what to wear underneath the gown.
“I recommend dressing up,” Fisher said. “Wear a suit and tie, or a dress under your graduation gown, and try to stay away from shoes that are too hard to walk in.”
Although buying a cap and gown may feel like another requirement, administrators say it represents a milestone in your life.
“The decision is up to you if you want to buy it to remember your time and journey throughout high school,” Assistant Principal Aaron Van Wey said.
With graduation only months away, school officials encourage seniors to order soon and prepare early so they can focus on celebrating their final moments as high school students.

$56 is so much, I think grads are being priced gouged.
